Q. Can anyone view the calendars?
A. Anyone with web access, and a browser (Firefox, Internet Explorer, etc) and a flash browser plugin

Q. Do I have to have a Gmail account?
A. No.

Q.  I use Google Calendar can I get copies of the calendars?
A. Yes. Search Public Calendars and add the Gladwin Calendars (there are several) to your calendars. See Google help for more information.

Q. What is GladwinCountyCalendar.com?
A. It is a website that displays the composite calendar.  There are actually a number of calendars and this site runs a routine to display them simultaneously in overlay fashion.  You can also filter the events and search for events.

Q. Who enters the events?
A. It depends on the calendar. GladwinCountyCalendar.com has email links to the various organizations that help keep this going. This is a collaborative effort. It functions only because everyone involved works together.

Q. Can I get my organizations calendar included?
A. Possibly. Our emphasis is on calendars that contain a fair number of public events. It's not intended for an organization that hosts 12 events a year to have a separate calendar. You will need to provide a person willing to keep your calendar updated. That person will need a gmail account (free). Your events can still be hosted whether or not you maintain a calendar online. The software currently in use is limited to 7 calendar colors so that is the current limit.

Q. Can I get my event listed on the Calendar?
A. Almost certainly.  Email the person in charge of the calendar relevant to your event. You should submit Event Name, Time of beginning and ending, Full address, Contact Person info. You may include a fairly substantial comment regarding the event. You may wish to include information about parking, handicapped access, inclement weather, event itinerary, event highlights.

Q. How often are the calendars updated?
A. More than daily. It depends on the actual calendar. For example the Beaverton City calendar may be updated as events change perhaps every week while the Beaverton Schools will likely update the calendar daily.

Q. How are these calendars different from the Google Calendars located on the websites of the various organizations?
A. Well they use the same data.  The format is slightly different. They pull data from the exact same database.  Each organization typically displays only its own calendar but its the same data. GladwinCountyCalendar.com is site designed to display all the calendars simultaneously.

Note: During the first several months of 2007 organizations are porting information to the new calendars and some older calendars may still be displayed on websites.

Q. I need a paper copy of the calendar, how do I get one?
A. Print right from the calendar page, Daily, weekly, monthly and upcoming events formats are supported.

Q. What is the cost to have an event listed?
A. Nothing. It's free, but please feel free to deliver pies, cakes, cookies to 111 E Cedar Ave, Gladwin MI  48624. These calendars are possible thanks to Google and the technical expertise of Todd Treece of Mid Michigan Community College. Thanks Todd!

Q.  Who’s in charge of the calendar?
A.  No one person.  Each organization is in charge of its own calendar. See the links page to contact the various organizations.

Q. Who’s idea is this?
A. Depends on how awesome you think it is. If you think it’s great, Eric Kreckman did. If you think it’s lame, Melissa Gary conceived the entire concept.

Q. Once a calendar is updated how long does it take for the GladwinCountyCalendar.com to reflect the change?
A. Faster than you can refresh the page. Google Calendars updates the calendar in less than 2 seconds.

Q. Who hosts the calendars?
A. Google hosts the individual calendars and EJourney hosts GladwinCountyCalendar.com
